And that’s a real loss because Anvil Saga has many items and pieces locked behind a certain fame threshold. Upgrading the shop requires a high fame. Many plot points and decisions require the smith to have this upgraded shop. Don’t limit these big moments because of a humble shop.
How To Increase Fame
If players want to understand why Anvil Saga is considered, by some gamers, to be one of the best real-life simulation games ever ranked, they’ll need to start building their fame. Doing so is relatively simple: complete normal construction requests.

Most special and personal requests do not increase fame at all, so be warned when picking up those big orders. But an average order will increase fame by a single point. On a single productive day, Arthur will easily be able to max out his fame.
How To Increase Maximum Fame
Construction Menu (q key) > ‘Change the room design to increase fame. ’ > Click the room or room > select the upgrade
The low limit of fame is simple to hit yet meaningless. Big orders and important decisions require much more fame than the player can initially achieve. To increase this amount, hit up the construction menu and click on the button on the top right, symbolized by a paintbrush.
From there, click on any room or roof and a selection of upgrades will present themselves. These will all cost the usual coins, but they’re well worth what they provide. Focus on this process early, story decisions will demand an upgraded smithy and there is no choice for players who are low on fame.
Anvil Saga is available in Early Access for PC.
