MLB.com’s Mike Petriello noted Lugo’s pitch had the second-highest spin of any individual curveball this year, trailing only Angels right-hander Garrett Richards. It was the first strikeout of Lugo’s career. He might have a few more if he keeps throwing breaking balls like that.
