According to Taylor, Anthem’s Legendary Contracts are quests that will be given by an individual “Agent” from each of the game’s three different factions of Freelancers, Sentinels, and Arcanists. These quests have been designed to give players a chance to learn more about the character who assigned the mission and the faction they represent. Also, Legendary Contracts consist of different quest steps that get changed up each time, include much tougher enemies than usual, and as a result, yield higher-end rewards.
During the video, Irving fielded questions from the Anthem community, with one of note being how the action-RPG will deal with any loot in the world that players don’t pick up, whether it be on purpose or forgetfully. The lead producer explained that the game has some systems to address this issue, saying, “Basically, if you don’t pick up a Masterwork or Legendary item, we’ll mail it to you, but everything else you basically lose if you don’t pick it up.”
Beyond the Legendary Contract on display in this latest piece of Anthem footage, Irving suggested that players able to take part in the game’s upcoming demo should try out all of the Javelin classes in order to determine which play style they like the best. What’s more is that there will be a way for them to send out a certain amount of invite codes to friends who might want to get in on the action as well. With this being the case, it will be interesting to see how these players respond to Anthem once they’re finally able to give it a go for themselves.
Anthem is scheduled to launch on February 22, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
