Jeffrey is the son of Kerry Earnhardt, Junior’s half-brother.
Unlike Junior and grandfather Dale Earnhardt, Jeffery has found little success in Sprint Cup racing. He is a rookie who has run about half this season’s races and never finished better than 32nd.
He finished 37th at Michigan.
Accidents and mechanical problems took a toll on Michigan. Just before the Earnhardts fell out of the race, Kyle Busch left with a blown engine.
Sunday’s race was run under a package of rules changes designed to reduce downforce. The Earnhardts didn’t get to full experience.
